Restricted Items Guide

Not every legal product is legal or safe on a Vandelta belt or trailer. This guide is the operational list for the U.S. site. Declare the commodity on the quote. Surprise contents at the dock delay or refuse the load. Illegal goods are never accepted.

How to use this guide

“Accepted” means the service can carry the item when packed to the rules and, where needed, with paperwork. “Restricted” means extra conditions: quantity limits, adult signature, Trade Compliance, or a freight product instead of parcel. “Prohibited” means do not tender. A courier who finds prohibited goods can stop the pickup and the account can lose print rights.

International Export adds destination law. An item accepted domestically can still be refused at export. Run Trade Compliance before you print an export label.

Always prohibited on Vandelta services

Illegal drugs, unlicensed controlled substances, and drug paraphernalia as defined by U.S. law.
Explosives, fireworks, and ammunition that the service guide lists as forbidden on that product.
Cash, bearer bonds, and unendorsed negotiable instruments in parcel.
Human remains, except cremated remains on the documented product that allows them.
Live animals, except certain day-old poultry on a contracted cold-chain product.
Counterfeit goods and items that evade customs or sanctions.

Restricted: extra rules before you print

Batteries and devices with batteries

Lithium batteries in equipment are often accepted on parcel when the watt-hour rating is within the published limit and terminals cannot short. Spare lithium batteries are more limited and may be forbidden on aircraft. Do not tape loose cells in a jiffy bag. Automotive wet batteries belong on freight with declared contents, not Ground as a surprise.

Alcohol

Wine and spirits need an adult signature and origin and destination that allow the sale. Parcel Pro is the specialty path for many wine shippers. Temperature-controlled bulk is Cold Chain, not a standard Ground carton.

Aerosols, perfume, and other limited-quantity hazmat

Some consumer aerosols move as limited quantity when the carton is marked and the quantity per package stays inside the limit. Others are forbidden on air (Express). If you are not sure, do not guess; Contact Us with the safety data sheet.

Perishables and food

Shelf-stable food in original retail packing is usually accepted. Frozen or chilled goods need Cold Chain and a pack-out that holds temperature for the full transit, including weekend sits. Vandelta does not guarantee a product that was packed with too little coolant.

Prescription and medical devices

Lawful shipments between licensed parties are accepted when packed and labeled. Patient-identifiable data on the carton should be minimized. See Shipping for Healthcare.

High value

Jewelry, watches, and art should use signature, declared value, and often Parcel Pro. Do not print the contents on the outside of the carton.

If the dock refuses

You may re-pack, drop the restricted SKU, or move the goods to freight with a correct bill of lading. Do not drive around the refusal by printing a new Ground label that still hides the commodity. Claims for undeclared restricted goods can be denied.
