Protect Against Fraud
Criminals copy carrier brands to steal passwords, payment cards, and package redirects. This page states how Vandelta contacts you, what we never ask for, and what to do if a message looks wrong.
How Vandelta contacts you
Vandelta sends tracking updates, invoice notices, and account mail from addresses that end in vandelta.com. Delivery alerts that you turned on in Delivery Manager use the email or mobile number on the shipment or the account. We do not send tracking from a free mailbox (@gmail, @yahoo, @outlook, and similar) and we do not send invoices from a look-alike domain (vandelta-shipping.com, vandelta.support, and similar).
A Vandelta specialist who calls about an existing shipment already knows the tracking number, the account name, and a recent scan. We do not call to ask you to read a password, a one-time code we did not just send, or the full card number used to pay an invoice.
Chat on vandelta.com starts from a page you opened. We do not send a chat link in SMS that jumps to a different website to “unlock” a package.
What we never ask for
- Your account password, or a screenshot of a password manager.
- A one-time sign-in code except on vandelta.com after you asked for that code yourself.
- Remote-access software (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, and similar) to “fix customs” or “release a hold.”
- Gift cards, cryptocurrency, or a wire to a personal name to pay duty, a ransom, or a “priority release fee.”
- A redirect of every inbound package to a new address “for verification.”
Fake tracking and fake customs pages
A common scam is a text or email that says a parcel is waiting, with a button labeled Track, Pay duty, or Confirm address. The page looks like a carrier site. It asks for a card to pay a small “duty” or “redelivery” fee. The tracking number may be invented, or it may be a real number harvested from a public post.
Open tracking only by typing vandelta.com in the browser and entering the number on Track a package, or by using the Vandelta app you installed from the official store. Do not use a link in a message if the sender is not a vandelta.com address you already trust.
Duty and taxes on an import are billed to the importer of record through brokerage, an invoice on the account, or a collect process we describe when the shipment is in customs. We do not collect random card payments on a standalone “duty portal” that you reached from SMS.
Account and invoice fraud
Phishing mail copies an invoice PDF and asks you to “update the card on file” on a page that is not vandelta.com. Pay invoices from the billing tools after you sign in, or from the payment instructions on a statement you already have. If an invoice number is new to you, contact us from this website. Do not call the number printed only on the suspicious PDF.
If you did enter a password on a page you no longer trust, change the password on vandelta.com from a browser you opened yourself, then review recent shipments and address-book entries for redirects you did not request.
Job and vendor scams
Vandelta does not hire through a text that asks you to buy equipment and ship it to a stranger. We do not pay a new vendor by gift card. Careers listings that we publish use Vandelta Jobs from our own sites. A recruiter who asks for bank details before an identity check is not acting for Vandelta.
How to report it
If you received a message that uses the Vandelta name and asks for money, passwords, or remote access:
- Do not click further links or open unexpected attachments.
- Track the number, if any, on vandelta.com. If there is no record, the message is not a Vandelta scan.
- Send the original message headers or a screenshot (hide your passwords) through Contact Us with topic “Other” and the word fraud in the message. Include the sending address and the URL you were asked to open.
- If you paid a scammer, contact your bank or card issuer. File a report with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (ic3.gov) if you are in the United States.
Vandelta can confirm whether a tracking number, invoice, or domain is ours. We cannot reverse a payment you made to a third party.
