Privacy Notice
This notice describes how Vandelta Logistics collects, uses, shares, and retains personal information when you use vandelta.com, open an account, tender a shipment, or contact us. It is written for the U.S. English site. California residents should also read Your California Privacy Rights.
1. Who is responsible
Vandelta Logistics is the business that decides how personal information on this site is used. When a retailer or another shipper gives us a file to deliver or return, we may act as their service provider for that file. This notice still describes our own tools, accounts, and network scans.
Privacy requests: use Contact Us with the email on your account, or the opt-out form on Do Not Sell or Share.
2. Information we collect
You provide
Name, company, addresses, phone, email, account credentials, payment references, tax or customs identity when a filing requires it, shipment contents and value you declare, claim documents, and the text of support messages. If you book a pickup, we collect dock hours and access notes you enter.
We create in the network
Tracking numbers, scan events (time, facility or city, and status), proof of delivery, weight and dimensions we measure, surcharge flags, and invoice lines. Driver or courier location is used to complete a pickup or delivery, not to advertise.
Your device and this site
IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, and cookie identifiers as described in Cookie Settings. We do not collect the contents of other tabs in your browser.
Others
Consignees appear because a shipper named them. Address-validation and payment partners return a result (valid, invalid, paid, declined). Public sanctions and denied-party lists may be checked against names you enter for an export. We do not buy consumer marketing lists to populate tracking.
3. How we use it
- Pick up, move, clear, and deliver shipments, and to prove that we did.
- Quote rates, print labels, invoice, collect payment, and correct weight.
- Run accounts, including users you invite and billing contacts.
- Handle claims, refusals, returns, and customs queries.
- Detect fraud, abuse, and prohibited goods.
- Meet law: customs, sanctions, tax, and lawful requests.
- Improve tools and capacity planning, using analytics only if you allow that cookie group or if the data is aggregated.
- Send service mail you cannot turn off (a label you printed, a customs hold). Marketing mail is separate and can be stopped.
5. How long we keep it
Shipment records (waybill, scans, proof of delivery) are kept for the period we need for claims, tax, customs, and the contract, typically several years, not days. Account profiles last until you close the account and the retention period for invoices ends. Support messages are kept long enough to finish the case and to detect repeat fraud. Cookie IDs follow the lifetimes in Cookie Settings. When we no longer need a record, we delete or irreversibly aggregate it.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical controls appropriate to a carrier: access limits on account tools, encryption in transit for this site, and facility controls in buildings we operate. No method is perfect. You must protect your password and the devices you use to print labels. Report suspected account abuse through Contact Us and read Protect Against Fraud.
7. Children
The site is for business and personal shipping by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 to market to them. A shipment may name a minor as consignee because a parent or shipper entered that address. Those records follow the shipping contract, not a children’s club.
8. International transfers
Vandelta is a U.S. company on this site. Information you submit may be stored in the United States and in other countries where we or our processors operate. An international shipment necessarily discloses data to the destination country for delivery and clearance. Where a transfer law requires a contract clause or another safeguard, we use it with that processor.
9. Your choices
- Access, correction, deletion, and California rights: Your California Privacy Rights. Residents of other states with similar statutes may use the same Contact Us path; we will apply the law that covers you.
- Cookies: Cookie Settings.
- Sale or sharing: Do Not Sell or Share.
- Marketing email: the unsubscribe link in that mail. Service messages about a shipment you booked will continue.
This notice may change. The effective date is at the top. Material changes to how we use personal information will be posted here before they apply to new collection, unless the law allows a different timeline.
