Effective 14 August 2026
Terms and Conditions
These terms are the shipping contract between you and Vandelta Logistics when you tender a parcel, pallet, or truckload, print a label, or request pickup on a Vandelta account. They are separate from the Website Terms of Use, which cover browsing this site.
1. Who these terms bind
“Vandelta” means Vandelta Logistics and the Vandelta company that issues the waybill, label, or bill of lading. “You” means the person or company that pays for the shipment, the person who tenders it, and anyone who accepts delivery, each to the extent of their role.
If you ship on a company account, the company is the contracting shipper even when an employee prints the label. If you pay as a guest, you are the shipper for that transaction. The consignee does not become the shipper by signing for a delivery.
Related companies (including Happy Returns, Roadie, InsureShield, Parcel Pro, and Delivery Solutions) may perform part of a move. When they do, these terms still govern carriage unless that company’s page and the service you booked say a different contract applies to that segment.
2. What Vandelta agrees to carry
Vandelta carries goods that the booked service accepts, packed to that service’s rules, with a complete address and any customs data the destination requires. We do not agree to carry items listed as prohibited on the Restricted Items Guide, or items that are illegal to transport in the origin or destination.
Service names (Express Overnight, Ground, LTL, Full Truckload, and others) are described on this website. The service on the label or bill of lading is the service you bought. A published transit day is an estimate based on origin, destination, tender time, and the service’s cutoff. It is not a guarantee of delivery by a clock time unless the service definition on the rate quote says it is, in writing.
Pickup is a request, not a dedicated vehicle, unless you booked Full Truckload or another dedicated product. If you miss cutoff, the shipment moves on the next sort or dispatch for that service.
3. What you must do
- Pack so the contents survive ordinary sortation and line-haul for that service. Insufficient packing is a defense to a damage claim.
- Declare restricted, perishable, or high-value contents before tender. Surprise contents at the dock can be refused or delayed.
- Provide a deliverable address, including unit numbers, and any appointment window the destination requires.
- Pay published rates, surcharges, duties you agreed to, and corrections when the actual weight or dimensions differ from what you entered.
- For exports, provide accurate commodity, value, and party data for brokerage. Vandelta may hold a shipment that cannot clear.
4. Rates, invoices, and corrections
The rate is the amount quoted for the service, weight, dimensions, origin, and destination you entered, plus accessorials that apply (residential, fuel, additional handling, and others listed in the Fuel and Accessorial Guide). If the carton we measure is larger or heavier than the quote, we bill the corrected amount. If you under-declare a residential delivery, we add the residential surcharge.
Invoices are due as stated on the statement. Unpaid accounts may lose pickup, credit, and online print. Disputes belong on the invoice tools or through Contact Us with the invoice number. A dispute does not pause charges you do not contest.
5. Liability for loss and damage
Unless you buy declared-value coverage through InsureShield or another Vandelta insurance product, Vandelta’s liability for loss or damage is limited to the amount stated for that service in the service guide in force on the ship date. That limit is not the retail value of the goods. It is the contractual cap.
Vandelta is not liable for delay alone when the service is not a timed guarantee; for loss caused by improper packing; for inherent vice; for acts of the shipper or consignee; or for events outside reasonable control (severe weather that closes a sort, civil disruption, or a government hold).
Declared-value coverage, when purchased at booking, follows the InsureShield terms and the amount you entered. You cannot add that coverage after the delivery scan.
6. Claims
File a claim through Claims Center with the tracking number, a description of loss or damage, photos where damage is claimed, and the commercial value. Time limits run from the delivery scan, or from the date the shipment should have been delivered if it never arrives. Late claims are denied even if the loss is real.
Keep the carton and packing until the claim is closed. Concealed damage must be reported as soon as you reasonably discover it, and within the window published in Claims Center. A signature at delivery that says “received in good order” is evidence we will consider; it is not the only evidence.
7. Refusal, return, and disposal
If the consignee refuses the shipment, if the address is wrong, or if customs will not release the goods, Vandelta may return the shipment to the shipper at the shipper’s expense, hold it for instructions for a limited period, or, after notice, treat it as abandoned where the law allows. Perishable goods may be disposed of sooner when they cannot be stored safely.
8. Law and changes
For U.S. domestic moves booked on this site, these terms are governed by the law of the United States and the state named on your account contract, without a conflict-of-law rule that would point elsewhere. International carriage may also be subject to a convention that applies to that movement (including, where it applies, the Montreal Convention or CMR). Where a convention is mandatory, it prevails over a conflicting sentence here.
Vandelta may update these terms. The version in force on the ship date applies to that shipment. Continued tender after a posted change is acceptance of the new version for later shipments.
The Website Terms of Use cover this website. The Privacy Notice covers personal information. This page is a shipping contract summary for the U.S. site; your signed account agreement, if any, can add volume rates and SLAs that sit on top of these terms.
