Shipping for Healthcare and Life Sciences
Clinics, labs, and manufacturers move documents, specimens, and finished goods that often have a temperature or paperwork rule. Commodity and set point are confirmed before the unit is dispatched.
The Move Has to Match the Product Insert
Healthcare shipping fails when a dry trailer is booked for a product that lists a temperature, or when a commercial invoice is missing for an export sample. Vandelta treats the physical service and the document service as one booking: parcel or freight plus, when required, Cold Chain, Trade Compliance, and Customs Brokerage.
This is not a clinical courier for blood draws unless Same-Day Metro coverage and packing rules both fit. It is not a public pharmacy delivery network. Sales confirms whether the SKU can ride Express Overnight, Ground, LTL, or a reefer unit.

What Healthcare Bookings Usually Need
Not every shipment uses all of these. The commodity and destination decide.
- Temperature
- If the insert lists a range, book Cold Chain. Gel packs in a dry carton are not a substitute for a stated reefer set point.
- Documents
- Commercial invoice, country of origin, and HS code for goods. Trade Compliance screens parties before the label is issued.
- Time
- Express Overnight for next-business-day documents and kits. Same-Day Metro only inside listed cities.
- Claims
- Temperature exceptions must be written on the delivery receipt. Declared value is set at booking.
Finished Goods Still Need a Dock That Can Receive Them
Manufacturers shipping to hospitals or distributors often need appointment delivery and a dock that can take a reefer or a pallet jack. That is freight, not a parcel label.
Samples and IFUs going to a clinic address usually ship as parcels. Restricted items — including some batteries and diagnostic reagents — are checked in Trade Compliance before pickup.

Confirm Commodity and Set Point Before Pickup
Sales checks whether the SKU moves as parcel, LTL, or cold chain, and which documents the lane requires.
